About our therapists

Currently, My Restful Mind has a team of 6 esteemed therapists who are trained psychologists with work experience of 100+ hours each under supervision in a clinical setting.

All of our psychologists are screened by the company following international guidelines and standards.

The pre-requisite qualification for a practicing psychologist is Masters in Clinical Psychology or related field.

All of our therapists have completed their MSc. or a MPhil program in good standing from a HEC Recognized university in Pakistan or internationally.

My Restful Mind recruits its international therapists from Canada and the US. The subtleties differ from territory to region, however, for the most part, counselors are required to be individuals from a common school of specialists.

For instance, in Ontario, a large portion of our Counselors are Registered Psychotherapists or Registered Social Workers. Enrolled Psychotherapists are individuals from the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and must finish perceived alumni level psychotherapy programs.

Psychologists are primarily therapists and can provide therapy and counseling services. Meanwhile, Psychiatrists are qualified in the field of medicine and have an MBBS so they can legally prescribe medicines. Psychologists are more involved in therapeutic intervention as opposed to drug intervention.

It is recommended to visit a psychologist before psychiatric support or drug intake as some prescribed medicines can cause dependency.

Our online video therapy sessions are available within 12 hours (9 am – 9 pm), you are also able to schedule a same-day booking. Flexible hours for our therapists mean flexible hours for you, from morning to night, and even on weekends.

Prior to booking your first session, you can take a short AI-Based Matching Survey that will connect you with a therapist that matches your mental health needs.

You are not bound to follow the recommendation and can select a different therapist from the panel.

You can take the survey here:

After booking your session, you will shortly receive an email from your chosen therapist. The email will include further instructions including session access, technology support and a small questionnaire.

About the therapy process

Absolutely, if you are not satisfied with your therapist’s services you can ask for a referral. At any point in your session, you can ask your therapist to refer you to another one due to any reason.

If your therapist for some reason does not want to or can not continue your session then you can ask them to refer you to another therapist. This discussion can take place via email or in the session they inform you about the discontinuation.

Therapy vs Peer Support

The main difference between them is that Therapy is offered by a certified therapist while Peer Support is offered by a psychologist who is currently in training.

If you are not ready to start therapy straight away but still want to talk to someone as a mentor or a friend you can go for peer support. But if you want to get proper therapy from a certified therapist then therapy will be a better option for you. However, if the peer mentor notices that you need the help of a certified therapist then they will refer you to one.
